New home site managers take great Pride in the Job

by on Wednesday 20 January, 2016 in Industry News,New Homes

On Friday 15 January 2016, the UK’s best new home site managers were honoured at the annual NHBC Pride in the Job gala event.

The Pride in the Job competition is the UK home-building industry’s equivalent of the Oscars. Running for 35 years, it recognises the unique personal contribution new home site managers make in the creation of UK homes of outstanding quality.

Pride in the Job – the ultimate accolade

Every year thousands of site managers (circa 15,000 in 2015) are judged for the quality of construction and finish on new home development sites across the UK at every stage of the build process. They must also demonstrate excellent leadership, technical expertise, robust health and safety processes and a certain ‘X’ factor to set them apart from the competition.

Winning a Pride in the Job Supreme Award is the ultimate accolade – only five are awarded each year – and for many of the winning site managers it’s the pinnacle of their career, like “reaching the holy grail” according to one former winner!
